3 Heart Drawing Exercises

Here you will be able to follow three heart drawing exercises step by step. Draw the heart in different styles and variations. Drawing a floating heart

In the first exercise we draw a floating heart together.

 

You will need:

– A black felt-tip pen

– Two pencils

 

Take 3 pens and draw heart

1. Take the 3 pens one above the other in one hand. The top pencil should be the black fineliner. The two lower ones are pencils.

2. Now draw a heart with the three pencils as shown in the picture.

3. Now trace the middle line with the pencil and connect the corners with the upper line.

4. Now shade the areas that have been created. Pay attention to where the light should come from and make some areas darker.

5. Now draw the lower surface a little thicker with a drawing pencil.

6. Now smudge the bottom line with a paper wiper, your finger or a handkerchief.

Heart from geometric shapes

In the second exercise, we draw a heart out of geometric shapes and then colour it in.

 

You will need:

– A black felt-tip pen
– A pencil
– Coloured pencils in the colour of your choice

 

Sketch of the heart

1. First make a sketch for the edge of your heart.

Draw in contour angular

2. Now draw the contour square and start drawing geometry into the heart.

3. Now fill in the heart with the geometries.

4. Now take a black felt-tip pen and trace your sketch.

5. Now take a coloured pencil in the colour of your choice and start filling in the individual areas, creating a gradient in each case.

Three-dimensional heart

In the third exercise we draw a three-dimensional heart together. The motif should look as if the heart is pressed into a lined sheet of paper.

 

You need:

– A black fineliner
– A pencil & an eraser
– Coloured pencils in the colour of your choice

1. Start with a heart sketch.

2. Start drawing lines and let them run down a little at the heart. Draw them in the heart with an arc.

3. Draw the lines across the whole sheet as shown in the picture.

4. Now trace the lines with a fineliner and erase your sketch.

5. Now sketch the areas where the shadow should be.

6. Now shade in the shadow. Use the flat side of the pencil if possible.

7. Keep blurring the shadow with your finger or a handkerchief. This will make it look softer.

8. Keep drawing in the shadow and blur it.

9. Only set the very dark shadow at the end and smudge it again.

10. You can make the lines directly at the heart a little thicker to increase the three-dimensional effect.
